Commissioned by the Bavarian State Ministry of Justice / Bayerisches Staatsministerium der Justiz, the series Recht lebensnah was created to explain legal topics that affect many people — yet are often difficult to understand. Addressing subjects such as digital inheritance, neighborhood disputes, and legal provisions, the films translate complex legal frameworks into clear, accessible information for everyday life.

The series was directed by Max Mayer and hosted by Helene Reiner, with cinematography by Zeno Legner. The concept was developed by Max Mayer in collaboration with HADIFILM, which also handled production. Designed as a series format, the project covered concept development and realization across multiple formats.

From the earliest idea phase onward, the project was developed holistically — from defining the format and editorial structure to production and final in-house post-production. Produced as a studio-based series, the project was filmed over three shooting days and resulted in 15 individual episodes, each delivering essential legal information in a direct, modern, and trustworthy manner.

Recht lebensnah demonstrates how public institutions can communicate legal knowledge clearly and responsibly, making complex legal topics understandable, relevant, and accessible to a broad audience.
